Amithlon - Classic AmigaOS on x86

Note - In April this page reflected that Amithlon had run in to some legal issues regarding the usage of Intellectual Property NOT licensed by Amiga Inc as the original author was led to believe, however I am glad to announce that this issue has been resolved and a new version of Amithlon will soon be available, fully licensed and endorsed by Amiga Inc.

Do you own modern PC hardware but are crying out for an OS like AmigaOS? Well, cry no more. Amithlon is an "Amiga Layer" for x86 hardware that emulates the (classic) Amiga 680x0 processor with a JIT interpreter delivering blindingly fast speeds. Unlike the usual emulation concept, Amithlon doesn't rely on a host OS and therefore is as close to a real Amiga "feel" as you're likely to get on standard PC hardware. It lacks custom chip emulation that something like UAE will provide you, but as long as you're not planning on using "OS-unfriendly" software, you won't even notice. With Amithlon you get the most recent release of the 680x0 Amiga OS, AmigaOS3.9.
